The transducer installs inside of the boat's hull, transmitting and receiving echoes through the solid fiberglass bottom with no hull protrusion whatsoever. P79 comes with an innovative flange that installs on the inside of the boat's hull using quick-setting marine epoxy. No cutting or drilling is required. Using built-in markings the flange is aligned to match the dead rise angle of the boat's hull. Once set in place and made liquid-tight, the flange is filled with propylene glycol non-toxic antifreeze and the active transducer cap is attached. Finally, the transducer cap is dialed-in and locked in place for a straight-down beam and maximum echo returns. The design of the P79 accommodates a wide range of dead rise angles from 2 Degree to 22 Degree. This transducer is intended for use on vessels with solid fiberglass hulls with a maximum thickness of 5\/8 Inch.
