Demco · Coupler Replacement Handle

Demco 6317 EZ Latch Composite Replacement Handle

A replacement composite handle for compatible Demco EZ Latch couplers. This is the handle-only service part, not a complete coupler or full internal latch repair kit.

Product Description

Demco lists 6317 in its 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch coupler service tables as composite handle only. Match the actual coupler model and service diagram before replacing parts.

A worn or damaged complete latch may need a different repair package. Do not infer coupler capacity or compatibility solely from the ball size or this handle's appearance.

Features & Benefits

  • Composite replacement handle.
  • Service part for matching Demco couplers.
  • Handle-only scope distinguishes it from complete latch repair kits.

Compatibility & Applications

  • Compatible Demco EZ Latch couplers identified by their model/service diagram.
  • Not universal to every trailer coupler; ball size alone is insufficient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this a complete coupler?

A: No. Demco describes 6317 as composite handle only.

Q: Does it include the full latch mechanism?

A: No. Full repair kits have separate part numbers selected for the coupler model.

Q: Does ball size alone prove compatibility?

A: No. Match the coupler model and its repair diagram, even though 6317 appears in both 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch service tables.

Q: What material is the handle?

A: Composite.

Q: What should be checked after replacement?

A: Correct handle travel, complete latch engagement and the coupler's prescribed securing checks before towing.
